A high-level Ethiopian delegation led by H.E. Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and comprising several State Ministers and the CEOs of companies and banks operating in Ethiopia is attending the 5th Africa CEO Forum which is currently taking place in Geneva, Switzerland.
This year, the Africa CEO Forum discussions will focus, among others, on ‘Building the New African Economy’, ‘The 2017 Industry Outlook’ and ‘The Future of African Leadership’. The Forum will also have parallel events on Doing Business in five selected African States including Ethiopia and Senegal.
On Monday 21 March 2017, H.E. Dr. Workneh spoke as panellist on ‘Building the New African Economy’ where he explained and replied to questions raised on the what is makes Ethiopia’s economic system successful, the role of the State in the economy and the general developmental state structure.
On Tuesday 22 March 2017, the Forum will conduct a ‘Doing Business in Ethiopia’ session where more than 100 prominent business CEOs from Africa and beyond are expected to attend. H.E. Dr. Workneh as well as H.E. Dr. Mebrhatu Meles, State Minister for Industry, Mr. Fitsum Arega – the Director General of the Ethiopian Investment Commission, Eng. Azeb Asnake – the CEO of Ethiopian Electric Power and Mr. Zemedeneh Negatu from Fairfax International LLC are some of the panelist expected to speak at the occasion.
